1953 KAISER MANHATTAN – A rare classic with endless potential

Looking for a one-of-a-kind classic that stands out from the crowd? This 1953 Kaiser Manhattan is a rare gem, blending vintage styling with serious performance upgrades. If you’re handy with a wrench or eager to get into the classic car hobby, this is the perfect opportunity to own a unique piece of American automotive history—without breaking the bank.

BUILT FOR PERFORMANCE & STYLE

  • 1975 Cadillac 500 Engine
  • 700R4 Transmission
  • Mustang II Front End & Nova Rear End
  • New Aluminum Radiator w/ Electric Fan & Flex Fan
  • New Starter, New Battery, Distributor, and Wires
  • New Exhaust System
  • New Tires & Air Cleaner

EXTERIOR & INTERIOR – A CLASSIC WITH CHARACTER

• Gun Metal Grey Metallic Paint still shines and gives the Kaiser a menacing yet elegant stance.

• Chrome has been refinished in silver metallic, with select pieces featuring holographic metal flake for a subtle custom touch.

• Interior was redone about 20 years ago and still looks sharp.

• All lights work, including dome lights, and the original wiring is in great shape.

• Comes with an extra windshield and other hard-to-find Kaiser parts, adding to its value.

A GREAT STARTING POINT FOR A HANDS-ON ENTHUSIAST

This car is solid, runs strong and smooth. However, like any classic, it has a few quirks that make it a great hands-on project:

  • Brake booster sits low – Requires careful driving over dips.
  • Power steering fluid leak – Likely from the power steering hose.
  • Transmission shifts 1st to 2nd but no 3rd – Owner suspects a minor solenoid issue.
  • Runs hot if idling too long in extreme heat.
  • Gas gauge doesn’t work – But a replacement gauge cluster is included.

THE PERFECT OPPORTUNITY

If you love tinkering, upgrading, or just want a cool, rare ride that’s already 90% there, this 1953 Kaiser Manhattan is calling your name. This one is a strong driver that just needs a little mechanical love to be running at its best. Bid now and make this unique vintage car yours!

  • ITISBETTERINALETTER says:

I commend the builder for not using any Chevy engine. The big Caddy makes it special. Did the 700R4 bolt right up to it or was an adapter needed?

    • Shakys57 says:

Thanks for your comment. I did not build this, but the paperwork that came with it indicated that an adapter was needed.

Kaiser lovers are probably looking for more original not a Caddilac/Mustang with painted chrome. MW KFOCI #16573

      mrw1949Dodge,
To each their own when building cars. It is spelled Cadillac,
and I think that it’s a large up-grade to an original boring flathead.
If someone wanted to build an original, good luck to them.
      Thanks for your comments.
