The 1969 Dodge Super Bee A12 is a legendary muscle car from the golden age of American performance. Part of Dodge’s A12 package, it was engineered for exceptional speed and handling, making it one of the most coveted vehicles of its era. This example has undergone a meticulous rotisserie restoration, staying true to the iconic “lift-off hood” Super Bee design and finished in high-impact F6 Rallye Green.
The Super Bee originated as Dodge’s answer to the Plymouth Road Runner, built on the Dodge Coronet two-door coupe platform. It offered a slightly heavier build and a 117-inch wheelbase compared to the Road Runner’s 116 inches. Unique details included larger rear wheel openings, a distinctive bumblebee tail stripe, and diecast chrome-plated “Bee” medallions on the grille and trunk.
Under the hood, this A12 Super Bee packs a date-coded 440-cubic-inch Six-Pack engine, featuring three two-barrel Holley carburetors, rated at 390 horsepower and 490 lb-ft of torque. It’s mated to a factory A833 4-speed manual transmission and a Dana 60 rear axle with 4.10 gears. Only 1,907 A12 M-code Super Bees were produced, and of those, just 267 were equipped with the 4-speed transmission, making this car even rarer.
Key Features:
The car’s deep, glossy paint and mirror-like finish highlight the impeccable attention to detail in its restoration. Chrome accents gleam, and the interior is in excellent condition. The undercarriage is equally impressive, showcasing the thoroughness of the restoration.
This 1969 Dodge Super Bee A12 is a powerful and beautifully crafted example of a true American classic, ready to turn heads and thrill enthusiasts wherever it goes.
