The upright grilles and running boards of the Classic Era were finally put to bed, as the Series 62 debuted a fresh and modern new look created by Harley Earl and his team in General Motors\' prolific styling department. The headlights sat in pontoon-style fenders flanking a low and wide horizontal grille. The broad-shouldered body eliminated the need for exterior running boards which in-turn gave the car a sleek and clean profile. Flowing lines and finely judged detailing tied the design together with Harley Earl\'s typical restrained flair. Aesthetically speaking, it was one of the most important designs in Cadillac history - often compared with other ground-breaking American automobiles like the Cord 810, Duesenberg J, and Earl\'s own 1927 LaSalle. Under the skin was Cadillac\'s L-head \"Monobloc\" V8 engine which served Cadillac well through multiple evolutions. The 1941 iteration displaced 346 cubic-inches and developed an impressive 150 horsepower. The company produced more than 24,000 Series 62s across a range of five distinct body styles. This beautifully restored 1941 Series 62 is one of just 3,100 cars built with style number 6267D, the stylish and desirable convertible coupe coachwork. The elegant proportions of the two-door convertible body combine with the fresh front-end styling to create one of the most appealing cars of the early 1940s. With the powerful V8, 3-speed manual gearbox, and independent front suspension, the Series 62 is also one of the best driving cars of the period. This specific has been used sparingly in the since purchased but starts right up, runs drives and handles very well. Has wide white bias ply tires mounted on the factory steel wheels with Factory Cadillac wheel covers. The car does have some minor issues that need to be addressed including speedometer that works intermittently, odometer, wipers, clock, radio and power antenna not working. Heating system has been plumbed but not currently functioning. Convertible canvas top is older and has staining that could using cleaning up but is in overall very good condition with no rips or tears and with mechanisms functioning properly to open and close.
